To some degree, it’s in my blood- I grew up in a church blessed with talent and production technology. Big sound systems, recording and TV studios, theatrical lights. What choice did I have?
Production has never felt like a job, it’s a passion. I can’t imagine a more exciting time to be doing what I do, there seems to be no end to the possibilities and variables.
I grew up with a strong blue collar work ethic. There simply is no replacement for hard work and doing your research. You may out talent me from time to time, but you will be hard-pressed to out work me.
I am a creative director with the analytical mind of a strategist and the processes of an account director. I believe my job isn’t my title, it is the responsibilities I have to my clients and my team. I have been honored to work with some of the most talented individuals in the business. In my mind nothing matches convening raw talent with industry veterans and overcoming limitations – unconventional methods have been known to occur.
Unlike many producers and creative directors, having the technical knowledge and experience of most departments, I remain very hands on; I prefer to lead by example and instruction. I am very experienced in all elements of production and content marketing from traditional advertising and online video, to live events and brand messaging, to interactive and emerging technologies.
A concept-driven, smart-thinking, story-loving, highly-experienced Senior Creative. I specialise in developing and exploring ideas for my clients, weaving words and images into simple narratives which talk to the right people.
After cutting my teeth on digital video during the NLE frenzy of the late 90s, I spent seven years mastering the art of the edit before moving on to insight-driven direct marketing, integrated-flavoured advertising, social, and experiential for clients around the globe.
I’ve worked with writers, producers, planners, designers, and DPs, and led creative-teams, designers, developers and production crews. Today my tools of choice are pen and pad, but I make a mouse and monitor sing too. I love to get inside the brief and get my hands dirty, bringing sound single-minded strategy to the message.
