1.8L GM Ecotec Performance Parts
Built for the Boosted Cruze & Sonic. Tested to 525 WHP. Track-Proven. Now Available to the Public.
Why These Parts Exist
Designed Out of Necessity. Now Available to You.
When I started building my 1.8L Ecotec-powered Cruze, there weren’t any real performance parts on the market—so I made them.
Now they’re available to fellow builders looking for power, reliability, and the exact parts that helped me push 525 WHP reliably on the street and strip.
About Me
Who's Behind MC2 Racing?
I'm Matthew Chevalier—gearhead, YouTuber, fabricator, and the guy who couldn’t leave “stock” alone.
I've been building engines, and custom DIY builds in the garage (and driveway) since the 90's. Daily driver VW's, a V8 front engine VW Beetle, and even was rockin' the El Camino with a carb'd 355 before Cleetus McFarland was even a thing!
After years in the garage and at the track, I’ve turned my R&D into real-world parts you can use to push your own 1.8 GM Ecotec build further. Whether you're chasing horsepower, E.T.'s at the track, or just want better spark under boost—you're in the right place.
525 WHP Build
Proof, Not Promises.
The parts I sell aren’t theory. They’re battle-tested.
My Chevy Cruze made 525 WHP using these exact components—from the CNC intake and exhaust flanges to the LS coil conversion. These are the real files, the real parts, and the real setup that got me there.

These are digital downloads only. You’re buying the plans and templates I used to build my own high-horsepower setup. They’re designed for DIYers or builders working with local shops.
For digital templates and plans:
Once you’ve downloaded the file, I can’t offer a refund—there’s no way to “return” a digital product. Please make sure it’s what you need before purchasing.
For the course:
If you’ve gone through all the lessons, implemented what I teach, and you’re still not seeing results—I’ll give you a refund. Just reach out to me directly at matt@matthewchevalier.com.
I’m not here to take your money and disappear. I want to see you win—and I stand behind the tools and training I offer.
Absolutely. All of my downloadable plans come in widely-used formats like DXF, AI, STL, and STEP, which are compatible with most CAD software, laser cutters, and CNC machining centers.
If you’re not working with the files yourself, just send them directly to your preferred fabrication shop—they’ll know exactly what to do with them. I also include a list of trusted vendors I’ve personally used, so you’re never left guessing.
Of course. You’re buying a single-use license, so sharing with your fabricator or shop for a one-time build is totally fine. Just don’t redistribute the files publicly or resell them—we’re builders, not pirates.
They’re 100% ready for laser cutting, waterjet, or CNC machining—no cleanup needed. I’ve already road-tested everything on my own 525 WHP Cruze build, so you’re not dealing with some half-baked CAD experiment from a random forum.
Every kit includes a trusted vendor list of places I’ve personally used for CNC, laser cutting, or machining. You’re not on your own—I’ll point you in the right direction.
Yes. All files are fully editable in compatible software (CAD, Illustrator, Fusion 360, etc.). If you need to tweak dimensions or adjust for your specific setup, you’ve got the freedom to do so.
If your engine is one of the supported 1.8L or 1.6L Ecotec variants (F18D4, A18XER, 2H0, Z16LET, etc.), the templates will work on any compatible platform—whether it’s a Chevy Cruze, Sonic, Saturn Astra, Vauxhall Astra, Corsa, or Insignia.
Sure! Ever seen the Pintrest fails memes? In all seriousness…
What is your time worth? Think about all the money you spent and how long it took to collect all those pricey parts? You can take the hard route. Sifting through hours upon hours of content. Doing a lot of trial and error figuring out what actually works and what doesn’t.
Or you can enroll in the course. Go through my training, and learn how to start building engines in as little as 3 days.
The choice is up to you. You can do it the hard way…or the easy way.
Yes! Even seasoned engine builders have learned a thing or two from this course. Join our beginner-friendly course, with easy to follow videos, and start building high performance engines now!
Not at all! I got started with a VERY basic setup. All you need to get started is a few hand tools and a couple specialty tools you could even rent from Autozone for FREE! I’ll provide you with all the resources you need to get started building your dream project engine, or even rebuilding engines for customers.
For the course:
Once you’re in, you’re in for life. You’ll have 24/7 access to all training videos and resources, designed to walk you through the process—step-by-step—at your pace. You can slow them down, speed them up, and rewatch them as many times as you need until it clicks.
Got questions? Stuck somewhere? Just reach out and I’ll get back to you ASAP. I also welcome feedback—if there’s something you’re struggling with or want to see added, I’ll continue updating the course with fresh training videos to make it even better. This is a living program built by a builder—for builders.
For digital plans & templates:
While these are DIY files, I don’t just leave you hanging. Each download includes install videos, wiring diagrams (where applicable), and vendor recommendations. If you hit a wall, you can always shoot me an email—I’ll do my best to point you in the right direction.
Let’s build it right, and build it fast. 🛠️💪
